Mohs Procedure & Saturday Clinic

Mohs Procedure

Mohs micrographic surgery is a specialized technique removing skin cancer one layer at a time in the sensitive areas of face, ears, and hands, lower back, and shins.  Mohs Surgery increases the cure rates, while minimizing the scar by preserving the healthy skin.

Each layer is embedded and stained onto a slide for the surgeon to analyze microscopically in the office.  The surgery itself takes only several minutes; however, the tissue layer processing is one hour and more than one layer may be needed.

Dr. Anis Miladi determines when all of the malignant cells have been removed and the area can be repaired with grafts and sutures.  Wound care is provided and depending on the type of repair, sutures removed in the office a week later. Dr. Schreiber and PA-C Hullett will care of the incision area, if needed.  We hold clinics in Tidewater on Saturdays, and have mulitple top-notch resources for patients who need an appointment doing the week.
